Homecoming 2003

Held Oct. 4th & 5th

THE PROMOTION:
The Marycrest Alumni Board invites all alumni and friends of Marycrest to join in the Homecoming 2003 festivities on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 - 5, 2003. Saturday events will be held in the Conference Rooms ABC, at The Mark of the Quad Cities, 1201 River Drive, Moline, Illinois 61265-1300. Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 10th & Iowa Street, Davenport, IA. Brunch will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnny's Italian Steakhouse, John Deere Commons, River Drive, Moline.

Homecoming Honor Classes: Our Homecoming honor classes are those ending in -3 or -8. Special recognition will be given to all Sisters of Humility in attendance, as well as classes with the greatest number in attendance, persons who have traveled the greatest distance, oldest person, youngest person, etc. As individual classes make their plans, please let us know so that we can include that information on the Marycrest Alumni Association Web site.

Lodging Accommodations: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Moline - Downtown Illinois Radisson right off the Mississippi River. Be sure to mention you are with the Marycrest Alumni Association when making reservations: 1-800-333-3333 or visit their URL at http://www.radisson.com/home.jsp.

Getting Together with Friends Throughout the Day: There are several nice gathering spots available for friends and family. When you come to the Radisson - check at the desk on Saturday, Oct. 4th, for arrangements the Board will have made. Or just relax along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. Explore the rich cultural history of America's agricultural leader at the John Deere Visitor's Pavilion. Browse in the many unique shops along the restored historical block. All this and more awit you just outside your door.

Cocktails, Conversation and Music: The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Rooms ABC, at The Mark of the Quad Cities. Cocktails (cash bar)and Music by Sax Therapy.

Artshow display and sale: Our guest artist is Mr. Ralph Iaccarino, a Davenport artist, alum, and staff member of Marycrest. Ralph will have his paintings on display and will provide prints for sale.

Alumni Dinner & Awards Program: Program and buffet dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Rooms ABC, at The Mark of the Quad Cities.

Silent Auction: Prints from Ralph Iaccarino, Painting by Bruce Walters and photos by Janet Rossmiller - Miller.

Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association: Our annual meeting will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Rooms ABC, at The Mark of the Quad Cities. Business items will include election of Board members and officers, ratification of the amended Constitution and By-laws, and other business as brought forward by the membership or the Board. The ballet is included in our most recent Fall 2003 Newsletter.

Sunday Mass: Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Marv Mottet at 9 a.m., Sacred Heart Cathedral, 422 E. 10th St., Davenport.

Sunday Brunch: "Dutch treat" Brunch will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnny's Italian Steakhouse, John Deere Commons, River Drive, Moline.

Open House at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat:
The public is invited to an open house at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, Sunday Oct. 5th, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. There will be indoor and outdoor tours, refreshments and information available. Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat is on 257th Street, 2 miles off County Road Y4E between Wheatland and Big Rock. For more information please contact Lisa Bellomy at 563/323-9466.
